Writing What I Want
Last month I began a series on what stocks I’ve been buying via the Robinhood app. I intend to keep updating my interactions with my investments in the app. So first, let’s see how I’ve been doing.
July has come and gone and I have finally - FINALLY - finished my master’s degree. I’m done with classes. I’ve yet to receive that piece of paper saying I’m done in the mail, but all that’s left is waiting. No more responsibility. That means I have more time for reading (and video games, and writing, and my wife and son - but of course not in that order!)
This past year has been quite an adventure. I got married. I just finished school yesterday. And today is my son is four months old. I’ve been chronicling what’s been going on, relying heavily on things such as medical bills and insurance explanation of benefits to fit things into a neat timeline. I’m almost done with grad school and graduating with my Master’s in Computer Science - just one class left on Wednesday, and that’s the final exam. Originally I had hoped to graduate last year, but things happened that delayed my graduation year (to be specific, I switched from a thesis to non-thesis curriculum). My final class is Distributed Computing, which I had a project to do. This project included a report. For my project, I compared the performance of a Java 8 parallel stream to a “normal” non-parallel (i.e. serial) stream.
